David  Wainwright

David Wainwright is our Chief Risk Officer for Zurich in Australia and New Zealand. In this role, David is responsible for developing and monitoring the implementation of the firm’s risk management framework and leadership of the Risk function.

Prior to joining our Australian and New Zealand businesses in January 2025 , David served as the Chief Risk Officer for Zurich's Life business in the United Kingdom. 

With nearly 25 years of experience in the financial services industry, David brings a wealth of knowledge. His extensive career includes various risk management and leadership roles at Zurich UK, Nomura Securities, Halifax Bank of Scotland (HBOS), and HSBC Global Banking and Markets.

David's global experience and impressive technical skills help to drive our risk strategy in an increasingly complex environment.
